Bristol Instruments Introduces New Optical Wavelength Meter Covering the Broad Range of 700 to 1650 nm

Feb. 16, 2022

VICTOR, NEW YORK February 16, 2022 –Bristol Instruments is pleased to announce the introduction of the 238 Series Optical Wavelength Meter. This system is designed for the precise wavelength characterization of tunable transmitter lasers, DFB lasers, and VCSELs used in a wide variety of applications including fiber-optic communications, data storage and 3D sensing.

The 238 Series features a broad operational range from 700 to 1650 nm. Two versions are available: The model 238A provides the most precise wavelength accuracy of ± 0.3 pm; and the model 238B, with an accuracy of ± 1.0 pm, is well suited for less exacting requirements. Both models feature continuous calibration with a built-in laser wavelength standard to provide the utmost confidence in your test results. A rugged opto-mechanical design ensures long-term reliable operation that is backed by an industry leading five-year warranty.

“We are committed to expanding our product lines to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” said Nick George, Marketing Manager at Bristol Instruments. “With the addition of the 238 Optical Wavelength Meter, we offer broad wavelength coverage combined with the reliable accuracy that is a hallmark of Bristol’s products.”

About Bristol Instruments

Since its founding in 2005, Bristol Instruments has focused on designing, manufacturing, and marketing precision instruments using its expertise in optical interferometry. Bristol’s flagship products accurately characterize the wavelength and spectral properties of lasers and are used by scientists and engineers at universities, and government and industrial laboratories. Our solutions are also used for the development and production testing of laser transmitters utilized in optical fiber communications. In addition, Bristol optical interferometer technology is incorporated into our line of non-contact thickness gauges used to make highly accurate measurements of materials such as specialty plastic films, medical tubing, displays and ophthalmic products.
