The EasyLife™ TCSPC has many of the same benefits of the EasyLife™ V except that it uses TCSPC detection instead of the patented stroboscopic detection found in the EasyLife™ V. Because the EasyLife™ TCSPC uses photon counting detection it is a truly digital system that provides greater dynamic range and the ability to measure lifetimes below 100 ps. With the EasyLife™ TCSPC you can measure fluorescence lifetimes down to 45 ps. Before the introduction of the EasyLife™ TCSPC your only choice to measure fluorescence lifetimes using TCSPC electronics was to buy a large expensive research instrument or to custom build your own TCSPC system. Some of these other systems provide outstanding performance. They can be a good choice for the investigator who has very demanding samples, the money to buy such a system and the sophisticated experience to be able to use and maintain such a system. However the vast majority of people doing fluorescence research are working with samples that have concentrations, wavelengths and lifetime ranges that do not require these larger expensive systems. And not everyone is a spectroscopist with the experience necessary to use and maintain these systems.
