TOPTICAs TA pro – narrow-band diode laser system with output up to 2 Watts

Robust system for the most challenging atom optics applications

TOPTICAs TA pro laser system is now available with output powers up to 2 Watts. The narrow-band tunable continuous-wave laser features a linewidth (5 µs) of only 100 kHz and a mode-hop free-tuning range of up to
50 GHz. Built using TOPTICAs popular pro design, this system deals with wavelengths ranging from 645 nm to 1083 nm.

The patented (DE 10 2007 028 499) MOPA-system master-oscillator is a DL pro laser with a tapered amplifier that amplifies the signal to high output powers, while still maintaining its excellent spectral properties.

Like all other lasers of the pro series, the TA pro is extremely robust with respect to environmental changes or vibrations. A sophisticated laser design with flexure joints, specially developed mirror mounts and a solid laser head created from a single metal block achieve this unmatched robustness.

For high-demand laser output power applications, our new version of an already proven system is now available with up to 2 Watt output. The TA pro electronics will be ready for further power increases in the future with low-noise TA chip currents up to 5 A.

The TA pro is ideally suited for challenging atom optics applications. With its narrow linewidth, the system is an ideal cooling laser for BECs and ultracold Fermi gases. Due to its high output power, the system is also perfectly suited for optical dipole traps and optical lattices.

Key Features

  • MOPA configuration in pro design
  • High output power up to 2 W
  • Nearly diffraction limited output beam
  • Ultra stable, typical 100 kHz (5 µs) linewidth, low drift
  • Mode-hop free tuning range up to 50 GHz
  • Ultra stable mirror mounts with flexure design
  • Rigid housing made from a solid metal block
  • Fast AC and DC current modulation for master laser and amplifier included

The TA pro will be demonstrated live at the 2011 LASER World of Photonics show at the TOPTICA booth B1.117.
