AMS Technologies fused PM couplers available in wide coupling ratio range

Nov. 6, 2010
Fused 780 nm PM couplers monitor and split optical signals in polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber.

Fused 780 nm PM couplers monitor and split optical signals in polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber. Manufactured using industry-standard PM fiber, the coupler is available in any coupling ratio from 1% to 50%. Standard versions are optimized for launching light into the slow axis to maintain polarization. Applications include power monitoring of PM sources, high-power fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers, and fiber gyroscopes.

PRESS RELEASE

New fused PM couplers at 780 nm

Martinsried, 3rd May 2010 – AMS Technologies presents the new fused PM couplers at 780 nm, an extension of the PM coupler series from Gooch & Housego. Typical applications include power monitoring of PM sources, high power fiber lasers, fiber amplifiers and fiber gyroscopes.

The 780 nm PM couplers enable accurate monitoring and splitting of optical signals in polarization maintaining fiber. Manufactured using industry-standard PM fiber, the PM coupler is available in any coupling ratio from 1% to 50%. Key advantages of this new coupler are very low loss and capability of high power handling. Standard versions are optimized for launching light into the slow axis to maintain polarization. Optionally, versions for launching into fast axis can be ordered.

Gooch & Housego manufactures fused couplers since 1985 and holds in-depth experience in the production of all kinds of fused fiber products, e.g. WDM, couplers, combiners, WDM and fiber collimators.

Gooch & Housego’s products will be exhibited at Optatec 2010, Frankfurt, Germany, 15-18 June 2010, AMS Technologies stand # F40.
