Quantum Composers (Bozeman, MT), a custom laser designer and manufacturer, is giving away a Spectrolite laser valued at $14,000. The contest, originally announced at SPIE’s Photonics West 2020 conference, is now open for entries online at https://www.quantumcomposers.com/spectrolite-laser-contest.
The Spectrolite blue laser is ideally suited for use by research labs in pursuit of novel scientific applications. In fact, the laser is part of the $7 million Shell Ocean Discovery project, which uses advanced deep-sea technologies for unmanned, autonomous, high-resolution ocean exploration.
To enter the Spectrolite contest, research lab representatives must submit an initial application that describes a specific use-case or idea for the blue laser as well as the type of laser required.
From the initial entries, Quantum Composers will select a group of finalists who will then need to submit a brief statement describing why their lab deserves to win and how they might use it to advance their goals. After careful review, Quantum Composers will then select one research lab as the winner.
All types of applications and projects will be considered. More information and full contest rules can be found at https://www.quantumcomposers.com/spectrolite-laser-contest.
Founded in 1993, Quantum Composers manufactures digital delay pulse generators, DPSS lasers, and OEM and custom laser systems for a wide range of applications and industries.
