id Quantique NIR photon counter detects at telecom wavelengths

May 22, 2011
The id210 Advanced System for single-photon detection can detect at telecom wavelengths including 1310 nm and 1550 nm.

The id210 Advanced System for single-photon detection can detect at telecom wavelengths including 1310 nm and 1550 nm. It provides high-speed gating at internal or external frequencies up to 100 MHz, a QE up to 25% at 1550 nm, and a low dark-count rate. For applications requiring an asynchronous detection scheme, the counter can operate in free-running mode with detection probability up to 10%.

PRESS RELEASE

Near-Infrared Photon Counter with World Record 100MHz trigger rate.

The id210 Advanced System for Single Photon Detection from the Swiss company ID Quantique SA brings a major breakthrough for detection at telecom wavelengths, i.e. 1310nm and 1550nm.

Its performance in high-speed gating at internal or external frequencies up to 100MHz surpasses the performance of existing detectors by ten times. It offers a Quantum Efficiency up to 25% at 1550nm, low dark count rate and an excellent timing resolution.

For applications requiring asynchronous detection scheme, the id210 can operate in free-running mode with detection probability up to 10%.
