    A simulation using full-vector beam-propagation modeling software shows that, when splicing hollow-core PCF to conventional SMF, the best performance is achieved for a collapse ratio of zero. This is due to the fact that the photonic-bandgap effect in a hollow-core PCF is easily destroyed by collapse.
