System Integration

April 6, 2022

Shanghai Optics offers a variety of System Integration services for custom applications. Based on customer’s expectation for the system of existing products and/or under development products, Shanghai Optics’ experienced engineers evaluate current elements/sub-assembly designs and analyze the feasibility and possibility of integration.

With decades of experiences and skills in system-level application designs and fabrications,Shanghai Optics provides the most cost effective and producible integration solution without compromising imaging quality or system performance.

It is imperative that the system level integration concept is upheld from the very beginning stage of your project. Considering the evaluation criteria of your imaging or non-imaging system performance, Shanghai Optics’ designers can identify suitable optical elements and propose the optimum combination after conducting a thoroughly performance simulation and tolerance analysis and manufacturing feasibility study. Monte Carlo analysis can be conducted to further determine your system’s manufacturability. The optical configuration can be finalized only if the specific system-design criteria are meet.

Mounting Method Selection

Mounting method selection is also important for your system integration. Once the optical layout is defined through the process described above, the optical elements will need to be installed into a mechanical housing by using properoptical-mounting tools and suitable parts such as retainer ring, spacers or a combination thereof. If the system performance is highly sensitive to tilts and centers of the lens elements, unique mounting/integrating techniques will be applied, such as Copper barrel precision mounting.

Shanghai Optics understands the key techniques that improve system performances. Our know-how and advanced methodology can help you achieve the intended goals for your system integration project.

Integration testing and performance evaluation can be completed in house. Shanghai Optics uses state-of-the-art metrology techniques to perform quantitative inspectionson all the technique parameters of each part and the entire system, such as spatial resolution, MTF, distortion, etc.
