PRESS RELEASE

TeraXion Extends its Tunable Dispersion Compensation Module Suite

Quebec City, March 10, 2010 - TeraXion Inc., a technology leader in products for the
generation and conditioning of light signals for Telecommunications and Defense &
Aerospace markets, is proudly launching a new tunable dispersion compensation module.

The well-known and trusted ClearSpectrumTM-TDCMX is likely to spark great interest during
OFC⁄NFOEC as TeraXion unveils a new high-performance configuration to leave a footprint
in the market. In fact, the latest TDCMX release now offers +/- 1200 ps/nm of tuning range,
while maintaining an operation bandwidth above 45 GHz. Such unique features, only
possible through TeraXion’s well-established and most-reliable FBG technology, are
unrivaled by other TODC technologies. “Our TDCMX redefines the industry’s baseline for
tunable dispersion compensator modules. Already twice smaller than the etalon technology
form factor, the TDCMX now offers a much wider tuning range, while maintaining insertion
loss below 5 dB. This new addition to our tunable dispersion compensator module suite
definitely offers the perfect dispersion compensation solution for 40 Gb/s applications”, said
Dr. Martin Guy, Vice-President of Product Management and Technology at TeraXion.

This new ClearSpectrum™-TDCMX configuration will consolidate TeraXion’s position as the
market leader when it comes to dispersion management solutions. Worldwide system
vendors and carriers already rely on the company’s product quality, volume manufacturing
capabilities and dedication to bring novel and integrated solutions to address their clients’
current and future needs.

Witness the power of small: the complete ClearSpectrum™ dispersion compensation product
line will be on display at the 2010 OFC/NFOEC exhibition, booth # 1440, on March 23-25th,
in San Diego, California.
