The M3-LS-3.4-15 linear smart stage from New Scale Technologies (Victor, NY) is a direct-drive precision piezoelectric micro-stage with embedded controller designed for integration into compact OEM instruments. It has 100 and 200 g capacities for vertical and horizontal loads, respectively, and a 15 mm travel range and 500 nm position resolution for repeatable positioning of optics, probes, and sensors, among other components. It adds embedded motion to handheld, mobile, portable, and battery-powered instruments, including embedded microscopes and spectroscopy systems.
