Innovative Optical Fiber Splicing and Glass Processing Solutions

Vytran’s array of high-performance products includes all-in-one workstations and stand-alone tools for processes such as optical fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, tapering, recoating and proof testing. These unique tools are used in the development and manufacturing of fiber splices, fiber-based fused components, fiber terminations and many others. Application areas include fiber laser, medical, research, aerospace, sensing and optical communications.

At the foundation of our splicing products is proprietary filament fusion technology, a proven method for producing high-strength, low-loss splices. In addition, we use an exclusive “fire polish” process to further enhance splice strength. These technologies are combined with innovations in fiber position control, advanced image processing, thermo-mechanical stripping and fiber recoating, to enable production of the high-quality splices and fused-fiber components critical for many applications.

Our newest product for automated manufacturing also boasts features such as One Step Splice™ process software, which allows precision fiber splicing at the touch of a single button. The system also includes E-Splice™ capabilities for remote operation and statistical process control.

Founded in 1989, Vytran has accumulated more than 24 years of fiber and glass processing application data and expertise. We use this experience to help enhance customers’ particular applications. We also offer manufacturing consulting, comprehensive product training and refresh courses.

Vytran is headquartered in Morganville, New Jersey, USA, with customer support centers in Exeter, England; Cologne, Germany; and Hangzhou, China. We also offer service and training through many of our distributors around the globe. Vytran is a member of the NKT Group.
